Flevoland on your plate
Let us inspire you with how easy, fun and delicious it is to make a recipe with healthy local products, in the right season. Did you know that 80% of the ingredients used in Food Forum come from Flevoland? There is a lot of cultivation in the area that can be used to make all kinds of tasty things. For example a hummus of soybeans, again grown locally in Flevoland. These beans are high in protein and locally-sourced!
Flevoland is constantly experimenting with growing ‘new’ crops. We are always searching for crops that normally grow outside the Netherlands. Think of soybeans, field beans, quinoa, but also sopropo (a special vegetable common in Suriname). With the right conditions and the fertile soil of Flevoland, farmers here are well on their way to making this possible!
