Distribution

While seed potatoes go from the ground to the grower, eating potatoes go straight to the consumer. Seed potatoes from Flevoland are sold all over the world. Especially in Africa and Asia,  the production of potatoes is increasing year by year. However, seed potato exports are also going to many other parts of the world.

Eating potatoes, on the other hand, stay closer to home. These potatoes are sent to shops and distribution centres in and around the Netherlands. All distribution is done in a very efficient manner; modern machines sort the potato according to size and quality, after which the potatoes are packaged for transport. This all happens in the same place—Flevoland!
